Our Access to Healthy Foods (AHF) program is operated by Sustainable Farms & Communities, Inc. and helps fight hunger and promote healthy eating right here in Columbia, Missouri. AHF is an entirely volunteer-run and donation-supported program.
HOW IT WORKS
AHF matches EBT benefits for pregnant women, new mothers, and families with children up to age 5 when they shop at the Columbia Farmers Market. Qualified recipients receive up to $25 in additional funds when they purchase fresh, locally-grown products at the Market.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
AHF has been tremendously popular, with usage rates twice what they were last year. We are helping more families than ever before, but we need your help! Based on current projections, we need to raise $5,000 to continue providing benefits for the current market season. THANK YOU!
AHF partners include the Columbia Farmers Market, MU Masters of Public Health Program, MU Sinclair School of Nursing, MU Peace Corps Fellowship Program, Columbia-Boone County Department of Health and Human Services, and PedNet/Unite 4 Healthy Neighborhoods.
